We’re excited to announce our collaboration with the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation (HAF) to bring the Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP) to Honouliuli Middle School. This partnership intends to empower students to develop essential entrepreneurial skills through project-based product development and pitch competitions.
This initiative guides students through product creation, marketing, and business strategy, preparing them for real-world success. At PLC, we’re committed to expanding learning opportunities that integrate literacy development with experiential learning. Partnering with HAF’s YEP strengthens our mission to foster creativity, critical thinking, and business acumen in Hawaii’s youth.
Honouliuli Middle School educators worked alongside Jennie Kaahui, YEP’s Tech Manager, to mentor students as they navigated the entrepreneurial process from conceptualization to commercialization. On January 17, our PLC media team captured students developing their dynamic pitches as they introduced their locally inspired ube-lilikoi cookies. The students’ next steps include preparing to showcase their products at the upcoming YEP Market Day, where they will have the opportunity to engage with the community, receive real-time feedback, and apply their entrepreneurial skills in a real-world setting.
