Evaluation

Despite the challenging conditions common to the schools served by PlC projects, findings reported in rigorous external evaluation studies combined with feedback from the field and ongoing progress monitoring of proximal indicators have confirmed that PLC services are critical factors in improving student achievement and teacher effectiveness.

The documents below summarize findings relevant to multiple phases of project implementation. The summaries highlight the project’s use of culturally appropriate evaluation methodology that resulted in two reports for which PLC received first place honors in the 2008 and 2009 American Education Research Association’s (AERA) School Evaluation and Program Development Outstanding Publications competition.
