PLC’s December 19, 2018 Book Festival “Meet an author. Adopt a book.” was hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Waianae. The event featured award-winning children’s book author and illustrator, James Rumford, whose books are published nationally and internationally. PLC gave children two books, including Rumford’s, Rain School. PLC strategically planned the event three days before the winter intercession, during which time children can potentially experience reading setback without access to books.
