May 24–May 25, 2021 | ALO Middle School STEM Academy Professional Development May 25, 2021 | News and Events ALO retained the services of HI FusionED to develop and execute a middle school enrichment program for the purpose of engaging project site middle school students in STEM learning experiences, including computer coding. ALO staff and HI FusionED Executive Director, Erin Nishimura-Horner, led and facilitated initial planning meetings with personnel at the three intermediate/middle school serving ALO sites. After developing the curriculum for the summer enrichment STEM program, HI FusionED facilitated a two-day training for seven instructors who are responsible for delivering the program at each of the three project sites (Ka‘u High [June 14–July 2, 2021], Kea‘au Middle [June 7–July 9, 2021, Pahoa High and Intermediate [June 7–June 30, 2021]).
